Love You Longer than Forever

This is an adorable couple, Micah and Hana. I was excited to paint this lovely Hawaiian couple. That is, until I started to paint the details. The wedding photo had a layer of Gaussian blur so strong that it looked like London fog. After finishing the challenging details of the eyes, I had to tackle the lush yet time-consuming flower lei. In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed working on the painting.

The beautiful bride is an aspiring school teacher. The groom is a celebrity in the surfing community in Hawaii. Micah, aka 'da hammah', is currently ranked third in the world in the dropknee (dk) surfing. Dropknee surfing is like martial arts. One has to be physically strong, yet flexible and graceful to master the sport.

I am pleased with the result and now off to my next wedding painting.
