恭賀新禧! Chinese New Year is on 3rd Feb. 2011!
I am happy that I finally finished a painting this month. This is Crystal Liu again. She is holding a gorgeous pipa. Pipa is a four-stringed lute, one of the oldest Chinese musical instruments with over 2000 years of history. The instrument has a beautiful pear-shaped wooden body. It was the main reason I was drawn to this reference photo. However, painting the curvature of the pipa free hand was challenging. I really should learn how to use the pen tool.
