This is a fantasy portrait of a Chinese princess. I loved drawing her serene face against the wild motion of her wind-blown hair and the scattering cherry blossoms. The painting took a long time to complete. The most demanding part is the ornate headpiece. The intricacy of the gold jewelry almost made me cross-eyed. It was a certainly labor of love.
I am glad I finished it in time before my Christmas trip to Canada to see my family.
I hope you enjoy the painting. Happy Holidays to you all.
