I completed this painting before my trip to Canada last week. I finally have time to post it now.
She is playing an ancient Chinese harp (or konghou). It went extinct sometime in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), but was revived in the 20th century. The shape of the modern version of the instrument does not resemble the ancient one, rather, it resembles a Western harp. [link]
